Final Project

I think that one of the biggest obstacles that I will face in my final project is making the video. I think that it might be dificult to edit the video and put in clips of youtube videos or pictures. I am not familiar with editing movies, however i though it would be different and interesting to do so. I would like to know what all has to be turned in together. I am a little confused if we have to write a paper and do a video or do either or. I would also like to get a better understanding of how the video lay out should be and if there are any requirements in making a video. Beside these few concerns I am very excited to part tkae in this assignment and to interview people.

  1. You only have to provide me w/ a video, Vince, although you must also have a "Works Cited" page, either in paper form or embedded in the video. You can either upload a file to YouTube or save it to a flash drive or CD-R, which I can copy to my computer in class. Details MOnday...

Editing video isn't too difficult - but it IS pretty time-consuming, so talk to the Student Multimedia Studio and start playing with the software if you haven't already. Despite the fact that this work is labor-intensive, having a nice video to show for your efforts feels great.

If you get overwhelmed by the technology, you are free to fall back on writing a conventional essay. But make this decision soon - don't save it for next Tuesday : )

  2. ALSO - if you're working w/ Imovie, I can help you a bit if you run into problems. Feel free to e-mail me.

If you're using Windows Movie Maker, there is a how-to guide in the Guide to College Writing (pp. 37-46) on VIsta. Honestly, the best thing you can do is just fool around with it for a few hours. Learn by doing, if at all possible. Good lucK!
